You need to lodge a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) with your celebrant at least one calendar month before the wedding, and no more than 18 months in advance. Your Mark Your Ceremony celebrant handles this at your first meeting and manages all official documentation through to lodgement after the ceremony.
