LGBTQIA+ Wedding Celebrant Perth
Your Love. Your Rules. Your Perfect Day. 🌈
You've waited for this moment. You've planned for this moment. You've found the one. Now find a celebrant who actually gets it.
Hi, I'm Mark, Perth's fun, inclusive wedding celebrant and MC. I proudly celebrate all love stories, and I've had the absolute honour of marrying LGBTQIA+ couples across Perth and wider Western Australia since marriage equality became law in 2017.
Whether you're planning a glittery celebration in Fremantle, an intimate swan Valley ceremony, a barefoot beach elopement in Cottesloe, or something totally off the map, I'm here to make it legal, meaningful, and genuinely unforgettable.
A Celebrant Who Actually Gets It
Not all celebrants are created equal. When it comes to your LGBTQIA+ wedding, you want someone who doesn't just tolerate your love story, someone who genuinely celebrates it without a script that feels like it was written for someone else's wedding.
I'm not just your celebrant. I can also be your MC, your music curator, and the person who makes sure your entire wedding day, from ceremony to last dance, flows seamlessly.

Coordinating multiple vendors on your wedding day is stressful. That's why LGBTQIA+ couples across Perth love that Mark offers a complete wedding service, all in one.

One point of contact. One consistent energy. One less thing to worry about.
One Person. Ceremony + MC + Music. No Drama.
Same-Sex Marriage in Australia | The Legal Bit, Made Simple
Australia legalised same-sex marriage on 9 December 2017 under the Marriage Amendment (Definition and Religious Freedoms) Act 2017. LGBTQIA+ couples across Australia have had exactly the same legal right to marry as any other couple ever since.
As a registered civil marriage celebrant authorised by the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department, Mark can legally marry same-sex and LGBTQIA+ couples anywhere in Perth and throughout Western Australia.
What the legal process looks like for same-sex couples:
Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM): Must be lodged at least one calendar month before your ceremony. Mark handles this with you, start to finish.
Identification documents: Proof of identity (birth certificate or passport) confirming both parties are legally free to marry.
The legal monitum: Australian marriage law requires a specific declaration during the ceremony. Mark weaves this seamlessly in, no awkward interruptions.
Two witnesses: Two adults present at your ceremony. Friends, family, anyone over 18.
Registration & certificate: Mark lodges all documents with Births, Deaths & Marriages WA after your ceremony. Your official certificate arrives within a few weeks.

Yes, completely. Same-sex marriage has been legal across all of Australia since December 2017. As a registered civil celebrant, Mark is fully authorised to legally marry LGBTQIA+ couples in Perth and throughout WA. All paperwork, NOIM lodgement, and post-ceremony registration is handled by Mark.
-
Yes, without reservation. Mark has been proudly celebrating LGBTQIA+ love stories since marriage equality became law. Every ceremony is written and delivered with the same warmth, energy, and personal investment, regardless of who you are or how you identify. You'll never feel like an afterthought at your own wedding.
-
Absolutely, and this is one of the most popular choices for same-sex couples in Perth. Having Mark as both your celebrant and MC means one person knows your story, your energy, and your vision from ceremony to the last dance. No handover gaps. No briefing two people. Just one professional keeping your whole day running beautifully.
-
For popular dates, especially September through November in Perth, at least 12 months in advance is recommended. That said, Mark occasionally has last-minute availability, so it's always worth checking even if your date is sooner. The earlier you reach out, the better.
-
Not even slightly. Mark uses gender-neutral language as standard and will use whatever titles, pronouns, and phrasing reflects you as a couple, partner and partner, husband and husband, wife and wife, spouses, or something entirely custom. Your ceremony, your language.
-
The NOIM is a legal requirement under Australian marriage law, it must be signed and lodged with your celebrant at least one calendar month before your wedding. Mark handles the entire process. Nothing complicated. See the Legal page [/legal] for full details.
-
Totally up to you. Some couples love writing their own vows, Mark guides and structures them. Others prefer traditional wording, or a mix of both. Mark works with you to figure out what feels right, so your ceremony sounds exactly like you, not a template.
-
Yes! Mark's Cozy Elope package is perfect for LGBTQIA+ couples who want something intimate, legal, and personal without the big event. Just the two of you (plus two witnesses), a beautiful location anywhere in WA, and a ceremony that means everything. See Cozy Elope [/cozy-elope].
